Rooms in Victorian townhouses

The Haymarket Hotel is made up of six Victorian townhouses. It features 70 bedrooms with private bathrooms with showers. Room options include cosy double rooms with king-size beds, and classic single, triple, family, and quad rooms. Superior rooms have Scottish sea kelp toiletries. Deluxe rooms include king-size double beds, bathrobes, slippers, and Nespresso machines. Family rooms provide the option of cots.

Breakfast and bar

Logan's, the hotel's breakfast and bar area, offers traditional Scottish options like haggis, MacSween's black pudding, and tattie scones, including vegetarian options. Guests can choose from local draught beers, traditional malt whiskys, and Scottish craft gins. The bar serves snacks.

Things to do

The hotel is near Edinburgh Castle, 20 minutes away. Edinburgh Zoo is a 10-minute bus ride from the hotel. The Scottish National Gallery on Princes Street, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, and the Gallery of Modern Art are nearby. Calton Hill and Edinburgh Playhouse are also close.

Location and transport

The Haymarket Hotel is located on a traditional cobbled street, 2 minutes from Haymarket train station and 15 km from Edinburgh Airport. A tram service and bus stop are a few minutes walk, providing links to the city centre and airport. There is chargeable on-street parking.

Hotel Services

The Haymarket Hotel features free Wi-Fi and a children's activity pack upon arrival. Regular laundry and dry cleaning services are available through a partnership with City Laundry. All rooms have hairdryers and irons. The reception is manned until 11.30pm. There are accessible rooms on the first, second, and lower floors.

“This hotel certainly stands out thanks to its location within grand Victorian townhouses. I like that it offers a full Scottish breakfast and an on-site bar that features local beers and whiskies. In my opinion, it's a solid choice for travelers wanting to explore Edinburgh's historic sites and culture.”

The Haymarket Hotel offers spacious and clean rooms, especially the triple rooms, which many guests appreciate. Its location is highly convenient, with easy access to Haymarket train station, tram stops, and bus routes, making it easy to reach the airport and just a short distance from attractions like Princess Street Gardens. Some guests have noted noise from the street due to the cobbled road, but overall, the hotel provides a charming, old-fashioned Victorian style, situated near pubs, restaurants, and shops.
