Lovely and Luxe rooms have king or super-king-size beds, large bathrooms, a free-standing bath, and a shower. The Apartment has office space, a living and dining room with a kitchenette, and a bedroom, but has a shower only.

Southernhay House has a bar known for its cocktails. The kitchen serves meals from 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM and 6 PM to 10 PM, with seasonal menus that change monthly. A full English breakfast, croissants, orange juice, and Cornish yoghurt are available in the morning. The hotel uses local cheese, meat, and fish, with fish from Brixham and steak from Elstone Farm in Crediton. The wine list includes both classic and newcomer selections. The private dining room seats 14 guests.
