location is central, but some drawbacks exist.

winding stairs lack of breakfast
the pub downstairs was quite convenient. the food was actually quite good since i just had to go downstairs.
The stairs were definitely a challenge. So many winding flights. it seemed like climbing a tower to reach my room, and i pitied anyone elderly attempting it with luggage. also, i thought it was a bit strange that they don't offer breakfast, especially since they have a kitchen right there.

historical charm with modern comfort

The staff gave me good, clear instructions regarding emergency procedures and after-hours contact information. my room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. i had a great night's sleep. It was exactly what i needed after a long day.
I had some issues with street noise at night. There was a lot of shouting and noise outside, which did disturb my sleep.

The location is great. It is close to shops and restaurants. i could walk easily to both the train station and the bus station. everything was easily accessible from the hotel.

my room was cute but also spacious. the decor retained some historical elements, which i appreciate. the bed had nice, fresh linen, and the room temperature was easily adjustable, so i could make it exactly as i like it.

warm welcome comfortable bed central location
i liked the warm welcome and easy check-in i received the staff gave clear instructions about emergency procedures. the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable i had a great night's sleep. the location was great with quick access to the central station

The room offered a Nespresso machine. I found an iron ready for use. The pub held my bags after checkout while I explored nearby areas.
The room felt really dark. I did not want to spend much time in it.

Excellent Stay Above a Lively Pub

convenient coffee machine great soundproofing helpful staff
I appreciated the coffee machine in the room (it even had instructions). The pub downstairs was busy on Saturday, but I couldn't hear it from my room. The room had multiple charging options. The pub staff held my bags while I explored the cathedral.
The steep stairs up to the room might be difficult for some guests.

convenient location friendly staff street noise squeaky bed
the location was very convenient to the train station. the staff was friendly during check-in, and my room (i stayed in the standard king room) had tea and coffee making facilities. (a nice touch!)
the noise from the high street was noticeable at night. my bed also had a slight squeak whenever i moved.
