The main bar and restaurant also serve lunch and dinner. The Steam Restaurant has a terrace for dining. The opening times are 7:30am - 11pm.

Nearby attractions (1-2.5 km) include Oasis Fun Pools, Pirate's Quest, Trenance Gardens and Cottages, Newquay Zoo, Great Western Beach, Killacourt, Towan Beach, Waterworld Leisure Centre, Newquay Activity Centre and Lusty Glaze Beach. Lappa Valley Steam Railway, 10km away, offers steam trains and family activities.

The Great Western is located in Newquay, 300 metres from Great Western Beach and 10 km from Newquay. The location is close to restaurants, shops, and bars. Parking is limited to 28 spaces, some outside the hotel and others a 3-minute walk away. The hotel is perched above sandy beaches.
