I secured a table for a Friday evening. I observed the decor and ambience in the restaurant, and I found an early bird offer of two courses for £20. This offer was valid until 19:30. Our group of four shared starters and desserts using the special offer as main courses had substantial portions.

I noticed far too much noise and light pollution from street lights. It also came from the road outside and the drinks machine in reception. I tried to sleep, but my room was near reception. I asked for another room, but there were late bookings on the other side.

The hotel has a relaxing courtyard that is lit in the evening, I believe it would be lovely during summer. This creates a nice atmosphere during the evening and is very quiet.

I sampled the Sunday carvery and was greeted by friendly staff who showed me to my table. Staff asked for my drinks order and checked for allergies, which I thought was great. The chef gave me the outside of the beef, my preference.

Unfortunately, I got an unenthusiastic response regarding gluten-free options at breakfast? Then, the cleaner walked into my room an hour before checkout. I felt pretty rushed to leave after that. No farewell from the front desk either.
