a perfect escape

amazing interior attentive staff crisp bedding central location

the building features amazing interior decorations and an excellent staircase. my room was quite spacious with crisp bedding. i appreciated the excellent service from the restaurant staff, particularly michael, mandy and lorraine, they were attentive. the location is close to the train station.

i noticed some slight wear and tear, with the room appearing like it may need a repaint, but it was very clean

The room included all necessary facilities. Lifts provided access to the upper floors. I stayed for two nights and felt the value for money was excellent. The central location was perfect for my needs. The breakfast was AMAZING!!!

The single glazed window did little to block sound from the busy street. I heard a lot of noise. It affected my sleep.

The hotel possesses beautiful charm with crystal chandeliers and original tiling. Queen Victoria had stayed there. This place has history. There is parking available, though it comes at an extra cost.

The reception staff allowed me a free later checkout. They kept my bags. They let me use the spa changing room to get changed after my day, very helpful. All staff were very lovely!!!

The room i had wasn't great. It was quite noisy at all hours! the sounds of bin lorries and bottle collections at 4 am really disrupted my sleep. old windows offered no noise insulation at all.

fine building friendly staff great location single glazing dated room customer service

the building had fine interiors with plenty of space. reception staff were friendly. they were very helpful and i could not ask for more. the location was great for accessing the station and exploring.

the single glazing allowed noise from the street below. double glazing would help reduce the sound. the hotel room seemed dated and customer service was lacking. i noted a lack of assistance when complaining.

poor ventilation high noise

My room felt quite stuffy. The ventilation was not good. The provided fan helped a bit, but it did not solve the problem entirely. I was also concerned with the noise level outside, given how central the location is (I guess this is just a tradeoff).

the building felt grand. i noticed beautiful interiors, and the staff was friendly. the location was convenient. breakfast tasted fine and filling.
