“Maples House Hotel struck me as a particularly welcoming Dublin option, located as it is in a leafy residential neighborhood near the Botanic Gardens. The fact that it's family-run no doubt contributes to that attentive atmosphere, and the Edwardian building has been renovated to highlight its original charm. I think this could be a good choice for travellers seeking a quieter, more personal experience close to the city center.”

Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
Maples House Hotel offers good value, especially considering its location in a quiet residential area, a short walk from Drumcondra bus and train stops and with convenient access to the city center and attractions like the Botanical Gardens. The building itself is a Georgian house with a well-kept landscaped garden. While most found the beds comfortable, a few guests have mentioned that some rooms could use some updating. Overall, it's a handy location for town, Croke Park, and DCU.

the staff was friendly and flexible. they were accommodating for my late arrival and early departure! the location was great. it was close to places of interest.
My room was narrow. It really looked in need of a refurb. the cups provided were so small. I asked for a bigger one. i couldn't watch tv. the tv was not attached to the internet, and terrestrial tv kept freezing. It kept losing the picture.

the staff was alright.
I stayed in a DOUBLE room and found it quite disappointing. the tv was small and barely worked, a real letdown. also, finding parking near the hotel was a nightmare. I ended up paying a lot just to park far away.

the attic room i got felt stuffy. it was may and the weather weren't even that hot. the hotel did put fans and heaters in the hallway. i wouldn't want to stay there during summer or winter. the room carpet looked worn, and the shower curtain had mold. also, there wasn't a mirror over the sink, so it made shaving tricky.
